First edition, first issue; 8vo; original blue smooth cloth lettered in gilt on spine and in light blue on upper cover. Nostromo was described by Conrad as his work with the largest canvas, set in an imaginary South American republic and covering a period of history from the 1880s to 1900. On publication the work was misunderstood and unpopular - however it is recognised as his finest achievement. A very good copy, a little wear to the extremities and crease to front bottom corner of the boards.
