First edition, first impression.; 12mo; bound by Stuart Brockman in full black goatskin; design applied with goatskin onlays, gold tooling; lettered in gold leaf; paste paper endleaves and gilt edges. Signed by the author to the title page. Sixty-four poems, of which 52 had appeared in the author's preceding two collections. The binding depicts order descending into chaos, with the gold grids merging into more random curved lines. The grids also depict two opposing sides, divided by a curved line from top left of the rear board, to the bottom right of the front, this represents a front line. The multiple red lines crossing the "frontline" represent bloodshed. Fine, housed in velvet lined quarter leather box lettered in gold to spine.
