Winox War stamps attached to 'LEST WE FORGET' application form.
WORLD WAR ONE: Propaganda

Category: First World War

Place/Publisher/Date:
London, Winox Ltd. 1917.

Description:

Four Winox War stamps attached to 'LEST WE FORGET' application form for Winox War Stamps. The Four stamps are based on designs by Dutch artist Louis Raemaekers, are the sinking of the RMS Lusitania, the execution of nurse Edith Cavell, the killing of French and Belgian civilians, and civilian casualties produced in Zeppelin bombing raids against Great Britain. The application form states "You will admit readily we should all help in Humanity's struggle against barbarism and brutality, and have probably given money freely, and possibly more than more, towards this end." Nothing would appear to change. Very good, folded.
