Howard Coster (1885-1959) was a British photographer, opening a London studio in 1926. He was a self-styled 'Photographer of Men'. The National Portrait Gallery holds five portraits of Coster, one by Eric Gill. There are over 9000 portraits by Coster in their collection, including those of G. K. Chesterton, Aldous Huxley, and A.A. Milne with his son Christopher Robin. Edwin Smith (1912-1971) was a photographer of English gardens, landscapes, and architecture. On his own or in partnership with his wife, the artist and writer Olive Cook, he authored or contributed to numerous books during his lifetime and his photographs are still regularly used today. A fascinating portfolio of photographs of a great landscape photographer by a great portrait photographer. Fine
