Germany: Jekyll and Hyde
HAFFNER, Sebastian

London Secker and Warburg.

Translated from the German by Wilfrid David. First UK edition. 8vo; original cloth boards and pictorial dust jacket. Fine in fine dust wrapper. 'To fight Germany today we must understand both her strength and her weaknesses. This book provides a psycho-political map of the greatest interest to the reader who wishes to penetrate behind the newspaper headlines.' Raimund Pretzel (27 December 1907 – 2 January 1999), better known by his pseudonym Sebastian Haffner, was a German journalist and author. His focus was specifically on the history of the German Reich (1871–1945); his books dealt with the origins and course of the First World War, the failure of the Weimar Republic, and the subsequent rise and fall of Nazi Germany under Hitler. A very good copy, dust jacket darkened and wear to the extremities. Rare in this condition.
