A Photographic Record of the demolition old London Bridge and the construction of new London Bridge, 1967-1973. Comprising c.90 mostly colour and black and white photographs taken by D.J.N. Thompson from the offices of R.H. Thompson & Co. (London) Ltd at No. 2, London Bridge. Photographs 8.5 x 12 cm, all corner-mounted and arranged on album leaves with some ink captions, contained in a 4to ring binder with associated ephemera concerning Thompsons and the bridge. A unique record compiled by D.J.N. "Jim" Thompson, director of R.H. Thompson & Co. This version of London Bridge was built in the 1830s and dismantled as illustrated here in 1967 and relocated to Arizona at Lake Havasu City. The Arizona Bridge is a reinforced concrete structure clad in the original masonry of the 1830s bridge, which was purchased by Robert P. McCulloch from the City of London. The numbered blocks were transported to America and the bridge was completed in 1971.
