First edition; royal 8vo; original dark blue ribbed cloth boards, upper covers and spines lettered in gilt; 2 sepia photographic frontispieces, 3 folding maps in pocket at rear of volume ii, 18 leaves of colour plates, numerous photographic illustrations, maps, charts, and sketches. Inner hinge of volume a little weak, light rubbing and marking of the cloth and foxing to the edges of the text block and some light internal foxing. Overall a very good set.
