Description: A.Ls.S; 2pp;4to, to Mr Sitwell (probably Scheverell Sitwell). 9th September 1930, Stopes states that 'I have just read with great interest your Preface to Mr Beaumonts book The History of Harlequin. Without having your learned knowledge of the subject, I have a romantic love for my early child hood's memory of a Harlequinade, the only one I ever saw.... Now I have an enchanting son of my own aged 6, I want to give him an equally delightful memory. But I cannot get hold of a script...' She wonders if he could lend her one and admits in default that she has written one from memory and imagination. Very good with slight wear to folds.
