Loosely inserted is a one page typed letter, explaining the genesis of the story, 'there was however one real character in this book, the old English Buddhist priest in Rangoon.' Signed in full Nevil Shute Norway. Fine in a very good dust jacket, which is slightly rubbed at the extremities and has two short tears. A very nice copy.
