Description: First edition; 8vo; original blue paper wrappers. One of 1000 copies being the first printing of Auden's first regularly published book. It contains the verse play 'Paid on Both Sides', dedicated to Cecil Day-Lewis. Very good, some edge wear especially along the edges of the back strip, two closed short tears to the foot of the front cover. The back strip and the extremities are slightly darkened. Internally clean a nice copy.
